Today, I gave a webinar at the Research
Centre on Interactive media, Smart systems, and Emerging technologies (RISE), located
at Nicosia, Cyprus. The title of my presentation was “Emerging Virtual and
Augmented Reality Environments”. My talk showcased how virtual reality and augmented
reality technologies can be used for a number of emerging applications.
In particular, I demonstrated a
number of novel applications that have been experimentally used in laboratory
environments but are expected to become the new standards in the broad field of
computer science and engineering. Case studies covered research prototypes such
as cultural heritage to health and psychology originating from several research
projects.
